Top Ten Dashcams under £100

One thing you will notice in this lower-end test is that most of the products are not from the better-known brands within the space. Don’t let this put you off as many are very good and having reviewed all of the tests out there for these products, this is what we would see as the top ten dashcams under £100 you need to consider.

1. Nextbase 222

The Nextbase 222 offers excellent value for money at around £85 or so including a 32Gb SD card, with its Full HD 1080p recording and 140-degree wide-angle lens. It’s easy to set up thanks to the magnetic mount and features a 2.5-inch screen for playback. Although it lacks GPS tracking, its clear video quality and reliable performance make it a popular choice among budget-conscious buyers (digitalcameraworld) (Honest John Kit).

2. Ring Automotive RSDC3000

This dashcam stands out for including built-in GPS at a budget price of around £80. It records in 1296p with a 130-degree wide-angle lens and also features Wi-Fi for easy file transfers. The magnetic mount and Parking Mode add convenience, though the limitation of a 32GB memory card could be a downside for some (Car Magazine Products) (Honest John Kit).

3. Road Angel Halo Drive 2K

The Road Angel Halo Drive 1440p Dash Cam at around £99 will give you super clear footage and comes with a 3 Year Warranty. I have to confess to being biased as I have this system in my own car and while the connection to your phone and download is quite slow, the picture is crystal clear at any time of day or night. IUt also has a built-in parking mode camera to protect your car when you’re not there too.

4. Vantrue 1080p Dash Cam E1 Lite

The Vantrue is the cheapest product in their range which stretches up to £299 so this is a basic model at £69. It offers reliable performance with Full HD 1080p video and a 160-degree wide-angle lens. Its super compact and has a small screen, but also built in Wifi and GPS, so packs a decent punch for the money. There is a slightly more powerful version the E1 for £99.

5. Viofo a119 v3 dashcam

The VIOFO A119 V3 is a feature-packed dashcam for just over £100. It records in 1440p Quad HD and features a 140-degree wide-angle lens. The standout feature is its GPS module, which tracks your speed and location. Its robust build and advanced features make it one of the best choices in this price range (digitalcameraworld).

6. Miofive S1 Dash Cam

This is packed with spec and it includes built-in 5G Wi-Fi, GPS and it records at 2160P UHD 30fps. It has a decent size 3.0″ IPS Screen, 140° Wide-Angle that will cover three lanes of traffic around you, Night Vision and a 24H Parking Mode to protect your car overnight. The unit can take an SD card as large as 512GB Max.

7. Redtiger F7N-Plus

A bit over budget at £120 but includes a front and rear camera and is a very high spec on paper with 4k recording at the front and 1080p at the rear. The front has 170° view and rear 140° wide-angle cameras which reduce blind areas around the car. The unit links to an app for your smartphone to allow playback and viewing through your phone.

8. Pelsee P1 Duo 4K Dash Cam Front and Rear

This feels crazily overspecced for the money at less than £70 and it seems to include everything. $k front, 1080p rear cam and a 170-degree wide-angle lens for the front camera and a 150-degree wide-angle lens for the rear camera. At this price, even though you may not know the brand, it maybe worth a roll of the dice.

9. IIwy 4k front camera

This is a front only camera but super cheap at £60 (with current 25% discount). It does look compact and easy to set up and install and includes a 3-inch IPS screen and has 24 hour parking monitor to protect your car when you’re not there. Again, super cheap and looks to be a solid unit with little risk to the purchase.

10. Udatuhao front and rear dash cam

The ridiculously named Udatuhao is only £69 for 4k front and 1080p rear cameras. Almost identical spec to the Pelsee above but in a different body – right down to the 170 degree front and 150 degree rear wide angles. This one even includes a 64gp TF card for recording.

Summary

These dashcams offer a range of features at an affordable price, making them suitable for different needs, whether you’re looking for basic functionality or more advanced options like GPS and dual cameras.

Our favourite and ultimate winner is the Road Angel. It’s solid, reliable and I KNOW it works well and offers good value. There are others in the Road Angel range that allow you to spend much more if you’re feeling flush, but with a budget-conscious mindset, this is the one I would go for.
